Sensational German Morgenstern Piano Trio coming to Hawaii on Sunday, October 26th, 2014, 7:30 pm

The Honolulu Chamber Music Series is proud to finally bring the German Morgenstern Piano Trio to Honolulu to perform on Sunday, October 26th, at the Doris Duke Theatre (Honolulu Museum of Art).

Following is an excerpt of what a critic for the Muenchner Merkur had to say about them:

"The listener heard everything desirable in a chamber music concert: Rhythm, precision, balance in sound,

and perfect intonation.  Above all an organic unity in preparation.  After the last note faded away, the hall was suffocating by silence, as if the audience had to solve a spell before breaking into an orgy of applause".

The trio has won numerous prizes at competition, including first prize at the international Joseph Haydn Competition in Vienna, second prize at the Fifth Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, and second prize and the audience prize at the prestigious ARD competition in Munich.

In 2009, the trio was awarded the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award, the highest distinction for a piano trio, and one the included an appearance in Carnegie Hall and more than 20 concerts in the U.S.

In celebration of  this year's 60th anniversary,  the Honolulu Chamber Music Series has decided to offer a special deal to certain organizations with discounts to those who commit to buy a bloc of tickets.  We thought it would be very appropriate to start with the German Club given that our first concert on October 26th features the Morgenstern Trio from Germany.

We are extending the following offer to the German Club:

Buy a "bloc" of a minimum of 10 tickets and pay $ 38 per ticket instead of the regular $ 48 per ticket.

Since this is a significant discount of more than 20 % and since our organization has no staff to handle this, it would require that a member of your club coordinates the purchase, i.e. contacts the interested members and collects the money prior to the concert.  Some of our board members, including myself, will be  at  the Doris Duke Foyer 1.5 hours prior to the concert at which point we could exchange the tickets for the money collected and your representative could then hand out the tickets to  your members as they arrive.

Please inform the German Club if you are willing to be the point person in coordinating the ticket orders to have the discounted price.
