Post date: Aug 11, 2012 10:58:26 PM
The German Club Hawaii’s first “Expertentreffen” is now officially part of History. About 30 of us gathered at at a new startup company called The BoxJelly which is an innovative coworking space where the entrepreneurs and other talented people can rent a desk, hold events, and reserve meeting space. (LIKE them on facebook).Kamil is helping them to marked the place and arranged for us to be there. Even though the AC was not yet working and the parking was a bit crowded it was a great location.
Dirks IL Gelato Ice Cream really hit the spot and was much appreciated. If you liked the Ice Cream, LIKE them on facebook.
Many lively discussions took place and it was a small challenge to break it up to move into the more formal section of our program. “Buergermeister” Alex shared some about the Vision Purpose and Mission of the German Club and spoke about some of the ground rules for these meetings.
Our Hon. Consul Denis Salle spoke a bit on his vision and plans for the German Community here in Hawaii.
For Food, we had some good German Bauernbrot mit Butter und Schnittlauch - lecker! Along with some chips, salsa and guacamole, fruit and vegetables. Which was mostly sponsored by Ameriprise (fruit by Jens)
All in all, it was a successful first event, we had a very great crowd which spread a positive vibe. We will hold further events in different locations and businesses to highlight them and other sponsors (we already have some location offers).
The next Expertentreffen in planned for November, check the website for more details as we get closer.
