Potluck for the German speaking community!

This time we'll have another "special edition" Strandtisch. For the 1st time it will be at Sherwood's beach in Waimanalo.

Sand, sun, surf and volleyball from 2pm - 7pm!

Like always, bring a dish to share and your own drinks!

See you at the Strandtisch

FAQ's:

What is it?

A Beach potluck style get together, mixer, Grillparty. We are getting together to have fun, fellowship, connect, have stimulating conversations. Come and bring a good time.

What is there?

Where we meet are benches, "the wall", palm trees and the beach.

We have a 12X12 Tent, a Lamp and a couple of Tables for the food.

We wont be having a grill anymore, but that's Wurst...

What to bring?

Potluck: bring something like a main or side dish, dessert, Kuchen, Brot...whatever - we put it all together and it makes a great meal for all. If you can bring a German style dish - that would be the Hammer! Also, bring whatever you like to drink. If you really cant bring anything, there will be jar to contibute some $$$.

If you have a 10X10 Tent, Table, Grill or a Gas Lamp or something else beneficial, please let us know and bring it.  Contact

What to expect?

In good old German fashion, people enjoy each other and talk, talk, talk. It may seem cliquish, but trust me it's not - people just like to stand in small groups - just add yourself to one. Usually about a third of the people are first-timers.

Some tips for better enjoyment:

Proverb: For someone to have friends must himself be friendly.

Is it for Germans only?

Of course not. Usually it is a colorful conglomeration of people. We have Swiss, Austrians, Germans, folks who lived in Germany, speak German (or want to practice) or just like the German "Lebenslust".

Where can I park my car?

There is street parking on both sides of Kalakaua Ave., at the Natatorium and the street leading to it.

You can park anywhere around Kapiolani Park and have a nice stroll through the park to get there.

Can children come?

Yes! Please bring them. We even have Child Care - YOU!

Can my English speaking spouse/friend come?

Of course! Many non-german/speaking spouses come. It might help you to understand your german spouse better, by learning more about the german Expatriate culture.
